Chinese Tourist Welcome Award 2014

COTRI invites all tourism organizations, destination marketing companies, tourism service providers and private companies globally from the leisure, tourism and hospitality sector as well as transportation and retail companies to apply with their products, services or projects for the "CTW Chinese Tourist Welcome Award 2014".

The CTW Award will be bestowed in five categories:

-                     Product Innovation

-                     Internet/Media

-                     Service Quality

-                     Marketing

-                     Overall Performance

 

For each category a Gold, Silver and Bronze CTW Award is presented. An international jury including Chinese and Non-Chinese tourism experts will evaluate the applications and choose the winners.

 

With 97 million border-crossings from Mainland China in 2013, China has overtaken Germany and the USA as the first outbound tourism source market, both in terms of numbers of travels and spending.

Beside the growth in numbers, also the boost of self-organized travellers is increasingly offering niche products and lesser-known destinations a chance to entice more sophisticated affluent Chinese visitors.

COTRI Chinese Outbound Tourism Research Institute has continuously emphasized the importance of the Chinese market. Today all National Tourism Organizations, Destination Marketing organizations, tourism services providers and private companies agree that it is necessary to prepare themselves to offer quality services to Chinese customers.

 

The CTW Award has been recognized since 2004 inside and outside China as the most important quality sign for the international Chinese outbound market, with wide coverage in print and electronic media. Starting at ITB in Berlin, since 2007 the CTW Award has been held during the main event for Chinese outbound tourism, the COTTM China Outbound Travel and Tourism Market in Beijing. The upcoming award ceremony will be held in April 10th.

The application is free of charge. Applicants are asked to provide information about their products, services and/or planned projects related to the Chinese source market and examples in form of brochures, online information, press releases or other materials before March 28th, 2014.

COTRI, based in Heide (Germany) and Beijing (China), is the world's leading independent research institute for information, training, quality assessment, research, and consultancy relating to the Chinese outbound tourism market.
