MARKET OVERVIEW

In USA there are specific states and areas where it is possible to see more travellers coming for example to Europe. Those are West Coast, the Great Lakes and East Coast. We have good connections to USA tour operators and media. We are having there our co-operational agent. The competition is fierce in the North American Travel, marketing has to be targeted and continuity is the key. The US market offers endless opportunities and the upscale affluent traveler segment of special interest to Nordic countries. A growing number of US citizens are having Hispanic background. The domestic economy, value for money and world events are the three major factors impacting on US travel trends.
 

ECONOMY

U.S. GDP growth will be 2% in 2020 and 1.8% in 2021.  the economy is expected to grow at a solid but moderating pace in 2019 and 2020: The growth rate of real GDP is predicted to be 2.3% in 2019 and 1.9% in 2020. The unemployment rate is anticipated to remain below 4% through the end of 2020

The unemployment rate will average 3.6% in 2019. It will increase slightly to 3.7% in 2020 and 3.8% in 2021. That's lower than the Fed's 6.7% target. But former Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen noted a lot of workers are part-time and would prefer full-time work. Also, most job growth is in low-paying retail and food service industries. Some people have been out of work for so long that they'll never be able to return to the high-paying jobs they used to have. Structural unemployment has increased.

MARKETING ACTIONS IN 2020 - 2021

E-blitzes
E-blitzes are sent to approx. 84 -90,000 US & Canadian travel agents (per blitz) to drive traffic to website and to social media and highlight major themes and inspire the trade to recommend to their clients. An e-blitz is a broadcast of an especially designed computer/html form with promotional information to a large database in order to create awareness. Current normal average open rates to eblitzes range from 10 to 20%. Blitzes go to agents from nearly every agency, consortium, host agency and home based agents. The message can also be tailored to reach Mice and/or consumer markets, but at a higher cost.

Management of the project
We will assist in designing a powerful message, catchy subject lines and a colorful simple form – travel trade will not take time to read lengthy emails. The message can also be tailored to specific markets; FIT, groups, luxury, special interest, LGBT, or other markets, etc.
