The President of Skål International, Mr. Tony Boyle visited in Helsinki 11.9 - 13.9.2011

Tony Boyle, president of the world’s biggest international tourism organization is coming to Finland on the 12^th of September, to visit the 1^st ever Skål International World Congress Trade Show in Turku.

Skål International is the only organization of tourism leaders, which is uniting all branches of the travel industry. With 20000 members and 450 Clubs out of 85 nations, it is largely represented all over the world.

Its members, the industry managers and executives, meet at local, national, regional and international levels to discuss and pursue topics of common interest. I have been member since last year and now I am acting as President of Skål International Helsinki Association. 

The most important concerns of the traveling industry include sustainability, and global ethics in tourism. Skål International is known for its effective efforts in these fields, for instance by organizing an annual Ecotourism Awards, to encourage the conservation of the environment and help to promote the development of responsible and sustainable tourism.

Tony Boyle has been working in the tourism industry for over 30 years, showing his competency in numerous leading travel industry positions, both in his home country, Australia, and internationally.

Mr. Boyle has been working for Skål for 20 years by now, some of his awards include:
