Skål International World Congerss started in Turku 18.9.2011

I am attending at Skål International World Congress in Turku as a president of Skål Helsinki Club. The first two days have been so far quite easy and more socializing with other delegates. The first night was dedicated to Get-together Party which was held in Radisson Blu Marina Hotel. There were estimated 600 delegates all over the world. It was very relaxed and the idea of this was Finnish Midsummer Festival.The dinner was sponsored by Turkish delegation. I met one of the Turkish delegate, Mr. Somer Ozkok, who said, he has been member in Skål for now 49 years. We all Finnish delegates were amazed about this. He started his travel career in 1962, he is retired but still very active doing business.The Opening Ceremony next day was successful. It was very solemn and full of protocol by the organization. I enjoyed a lot the way of showing awareness of sustainability.
