On the Asian continent, COVID-19 continues to grow – only a few countries have clearly been able to control infections

Many Asian countries have recently gone worse in preventing COVID-19. We also see the low level of testing as problematic. In Japan and South Korea, for example, the numbers are quite small in relation to the population. We assume that the Finnish government will make a decision to allow South Koreans, Japanese and also Taiwanese to enter Finland without restrictions.

We have again divided Asian countries into three “castes”: “Yes”, “Maybe” and “No”. The yes caste should include entering Finland without any restrictions. We have placed South Korea and Japan in the “Maybe” box.

The list below can be a bit awkward to read, as we have added both EU recommendations and the Finnish government’s own goal of accepting tourists from different Asian countries. The Finnish government’s line is stricter and more cautious than that of the EU. The list also has its own columns for cumulative virus numbers from the beginning of the reference period and a list of the situation for the last 14 days as averages.

The green color indicates that the number of infections is below the limit values ​​of both the EU and the Finnish government. The blue color indicates that either the number of tests is very low or there may be larger errors in the data obtained. The red color, on the other hand, indicates that the number of infections is well above the cut-off values.
