Australia, Canada and New Zeeland have been able to keep virus infections low
In South and North America, the viral situation is still difficult, with the exception of Canada. In Brazil and Chile, a
small decrease can be seen, but the daily number of infections is really far from, for example, the EU target numbers.
In Oceania, New Zealand has been able to keep infection rates really low. Recently, there has been a rise in the state
of Victoria, Australia, which is raising the country’s figures quite upwards. However, the country’s figures are still well
below the ceilings set by Finland and the EU.
Australia, Canada and New Zeeland have been able to keep virus infections low while testing rates high. From today,
13 July 2020, the citizens of Australia and New Zealand are entitled to travel to Finland, e.g. without 14 days of
voluntary quarantine upon arrival in the country. Surprisingly, Canada was not qualified for the list in the Finnish
government’s decisions last week. Hopefully by the end of July this will happen.
