In Australia, the number of infected people has started to increase

A month has passed since we started monitoring the virus situation in the Americas and Oceania. In the Americas, infection rates remain high and in many countries rates have only increased. In Brazil and Chile, however, volumes have fallen slightly given the situation over the last 14 days. We were initially hopeful that the low rates of infections in Canada would remain, but the numbers have risen sharply recently. We no longer believe that the borders of the Americas will be opening for some time towards Europe.

Canada, Chile and the United States have been actively producing tests. Argentina, Brazil and Mexico, on the other hand, have tested their populations quite a bit.

In Oceania, the two most important tourist destinations, Australia and New Zealand, are in different situations relative
to each other. In Australia, the number of infected people has started to increase and far exceeded e.g. The Finnish
government’s limit of 8 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants. It may be possible that Australia, which was selected
as the so-called. The European Union’s Green List is being dropped from it, and in this way the Finnish Government is
also dropping the country off its own list of approved states, and the borders remain closed to Australians.

In New Zealand, the situation has remained good throughout. Infection rates have been low. In both Australia and New Zealand, the population is being actively tested.
