Americas hasn’t reach the roof of the infections yet

Today, we decide to stop monitoring COVID-19 virus infections and testing in the Americas and Oceania. We have been
monitoring for 34 days the number of infections only increasing in both South and North America. In Oceania, last minute
news has been an epidemic rise in Australia.

We are not likely to see tourist flows from the Americas throughout the rest of the year. The number of infections is really high even compared to the population. Argentina and Mexico are not hardworking to test their citizens. The United States and Canada, on the other hand, are testing, but it seems that citizens are not following the guidelines or are even indifferent to infections.

The Second Wave is already underway in Australia. At least the number of infections has started to rise and we are also
unlikely to see tourists from Australia again for the rest of the year. New Zealand, on the other hand, has been able to
keep infection rates low.

Countries with the number of infections exceeding the Finnish government’s limit of 8 new
infections per 100,000 inhabitants are shown in red. For the European part, Finland has also
set a secondary amount of 10 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants. The reference period is
the last 14 days. The green color indicates that the The number of infections in the country
is below the Finnish government’s limit value. The blue color, in turn, indicates that either
the number of infections tested in the country is low and / or there are other shortcomings
in the monitoring of infections.
