Europe – the volumes on the continent have increased compared to the beginning of the period

We are ending our 36-day project for Europe today. In just over a month, a lot has happened in different countries. Unfortunately, the volumes on the continent have increased compared to the beginning of the period under review in June 2020. In terms of incoming tourism in the Baltic and Nordic countries, e.g. Infection rates remain high in France, Russia, Spain and the United Kingdom. In Sweden, an important starting point in the Nordic countries, infections have started to decline, but are not large enough to save late summer.

Many European countries are in trouble due to the increase in infections. Some countries have not been able to increase testing or control the number of infections throughout the period under review. On the positive side, there does not have to be a large or small country to manage the current pandemic. More of the right attitude is needed from both decision makers and citizens.

Belgium is likely to get out of the so-called from the list of safe countries. Slovenia should take back the to the list because the volumes have never been at the same level as in other critical countries.

Countries with the number of infections exceeding the Finnish government’s limit of 8 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants are shown in red. For the European part, Finland has also set a secondary amount of 10 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants. The reference period is the last 14 days. The green color indicates that the The number of infections in the country is below the Finnish government’s limit value. The blue color, in turn, indicates that either the number of infections tested in the country is low and / or there are other shortcomings in the monitoring of infections.
