Entry restrictions will be extended on 13 December 2020
Restrictions will continue until 13.12
On 19 November, the Government decided that the entry restrictions would be extended until 13 December 2020. The acceleration phase of the epidemic continues and the differences in the epidemic situation between Finland and the rest of Europe are large. Therefore, releasing of the restrictions is not justified until the compensatory measures in preparation are sufficiently available. The decision applies an interest rate threshold of 25 new cases per 100 000 persons during the previous 14 days. This applies to the Schengen countries, the non-Schengen EU countries and the United Kingdom.
Internal border traffic
Internal border traffic means traffic between Finland and other countries belonging to the Schengen area. Restrictions on entry apply to internal border traffic in Finland and the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Iceland, Italy, Austria, Greece, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Portugal, Poland, France, Sweden, Germany, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Denmark , Czech Republic, Hungary and Estonia, with certain exceptions.
Travellers are recommended 10 days of voluntary quarantine, which can be shortened by two voluntary corona tests
if desired.
Non-Schengen countries
External border traffic refers to traffic between Finland and non-Schengen countries. 23.11. From 1 January onwards,
restrictions on entry in external border traffic will be returned to Uruguayans in traffic arriving from Finland to Uruguay.
5.11. no other changes will be made to the decision taken.
No restrictions for citizens from these countries
Restrictions on entry have already been lifted from the Vatican for traffic to Finland and between Finland and Australia,
Japan, Rwanda, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand and New Zealand for residents of these countries.
China, Hongkong and Macao
Restrictions will also be lifted for residents of China, Hong Kong and Macao SARs traveling to Finland from these areas,
provided that the Council of the EU finds that reciprocity has been sufficiently achieved.
Work related trip is not business trip, quarantine measures
The following European countries may still come to Finland on a work related trip or for any other necessary reason:
Andorra, Bulgaria, Ireland, Croatia, Cyprus, Monaco, Romania, San Marino and the United Kingdom. Restrictions on the
entry of these virgins are better than restrictions on internal border controls. 10-day self-quarantine is recommended for
immigrants.
