VILNIUS TOURISM STATISTICS 2025

Summary of key facts about tourists arriving from abroad:

✅ The number of foreigners arriving in Vilnius increased by 1.8% (863,360),
✅ the number of foreign stays increased by 39.4% (2,153,719),
✅ 2.49 nights was the average duration of foreign stays (previously 1.84),
✅ 393 euros – average travel expenses for foreigners in Vilnius (previously 381 euros).

The increase in the number of overnight stays and longer stays in the city are perhaps the most important indicators for developing more sustainable travel. All cities dream of keeping tourists longer and seeking unique experiences that encourage them to plan a longer trip.

What do the TOP countries from which foreigners have come look:

☑️ The list of countries remains similar to last year, with Poland in first place,
✅ The number of tourists increased from Poland, Germany, Latvia, Italy, Estonia, Spain, Finland,
❌ It decreased from the United Kingdom, the USA, France, and the Netherlands.

About 27% of all tourists are Lithuanians staying overnight in accommodation establishments in Vilnius.

❌ Unfortunately, the number of domestic tourists decreased by 19.6% last year,
❌ This led to an overall decrease in the number of tourists by 4.9%,
✅ The total number of overnight stays by all tourists (both foreign and domestic) nevertheless increased by 22%,
✅ Therefore, the benefits generated by tourism for the city grew and reached 833 million. EUR.

The increase in the number of overnight stays is a key indicator for assessing economic benefit.

SUMMARY:

Although the total number of tourists in Vilnius decreased in 2025 due to reduced domestic tourism, the most important quality indicators increased. More foreigners arrived in the city; they spent significantly more time here, generating a record number of overnight stays and greater economic benefits for the city. This shows that Vilnius is successfully strengthening its position as a destination that not only attracts visitors but also encourages them to stay longer and experience more.

✅ International arrivals increased by 1.8% (863,360)
✅ International overnight stays grew by 39.4% (2,153,719)
✅ Average stay length reached 2.49 nights (up from 1.84)
✅ Average visitor spending increased to €393 per trip

While total visitor numbers were affected by a decline in domestic tourism, the key indicators of tourism quality and economic impact continued to improve. More international visitors chose to stay longer in Vilnius, generating greater value for the city and local businesses.
